I don't want to end up old and poor. I want to retire in relative comfort and not end up broke and a nuisance to my kids -- always pestering them for allowance. That can't happen to me!
But I know nothing about investing. Well at least until relatively recently. I’ve read up and learned as much as I can about investing in stocks so I can build a retirement fund. I only have less than 30 years left before I retire so I need to build wealth really fast.
It’s a race against time but I am determined to win. The goal is upwards of ten million pesos by the time I reach 65. I think I can do it. This blog will be my record.
Who am I? That’s not important. I am your regular, next-door neighbor, average-salaried, nondescript Pinoy who wants to stay anonymous. Whichever way this story ends 25 years from now, be it in embarrassing failure or success, anonymity can cloak me from being identified by kidnap-for-ransom gangs and extended relatives. If I fail, anonymity protects me from the shame of being an identified loser in the Pinoy blogosphere.
Besides, I don’t really know that much. This blog then is for amateur investors like me. Going forward, I hope I learn more, become better at investing and, more importantly, richer.
Ten million pesos in 25 years! Here we go!
It's simple. I want to be rich.
I'm a typical middle-income office worker and I'm learning to invest in the stock market. The goal is to reach upwards of ten million pesos by the time I reach 65.
I started investing in 2008. In May 2009, I put together a game plan and have been recording my progress against it.
This blog then is a running record of my performance and a way to share what I've learned along the way.
-------------
Since I have started this blog, I have revised my goal several times. My current goal to to retire by the time I'm 45 or earlier with more than 20 million pesos generating interest.
